We are also open to C# developers looking to move into mobile development.
The way we work
The technology team is split in to smaller groups of 5-6 developers plus an automation QA based around small projects. Each highly collaborative group chooses their own way of working from Kanban to GIST planning in a continually evolving process. All work items are a collaboration with our business colleagues. As part of this we approach work with a Lean and MVP mindset often running A/B tests to validate ideas early.
What you will really be doing
A year a go we wrote the PureGym Member App and we are looking at growing the team to enhance the new platform for the half a million users who have downloaded it.
All our roles include hands on coding from back end C# and APIs to front end Xamarin UI in addition to business collaboration.
Skills & Requirements
We recruit people who combine breadth and depth of knowledge. This reflects the broad nature of the work we are required to do.
- Xamarin App experience ideally in a high transaction public facing app
- Real work experience of deploying to Apple and Andriod app stores
- Ideally real world experience of Azure (PaaS) although we would consider AWS experience
- Good design patterns and architectural skills
- Good real work experience of testing ideally BDD
What have we worked on recently
In 2018 the team deployed 449 versions of the website using continuous deployment. Recently projects have included strategic projects, platform updates and innovation features.
On the mobile side of the team we have been expanding our Xamarin app to include number of people in the gym, work out plans and member activity.
We allow 20% time for prototypes and concepts from this we have worked on Metrics dashboards Contactless gym entry, Strava Integration and an Alex Skill for how many people are in the gym.
Our Recruitment Process
Our interview process consists of several stages. After the initial CV review we arrange a 30 minute call to talk about the role and for us to learn more about your skills.
The next stage is to send you a set of scenarios and ask you to send us create your solution to the problem. This is a chance for you to demonstrate design patterns, testing code to solve a real-world problem.
Finally, we have face to face interview for you to come see our office, meet our developers and talk over your CV and approach to the coding test.
