    Job Description:

    A Data Engineer at Red Ventures owns the end-to-end vision of conceptual, physical, and logical storage of data and how analysts, applications, and data scientists consume it.  We’ll look to you to recognize and identify patterns in data relationships from disparate systems and create data management solutions. You will design and build scalable infrastructure platforms to collect and process large amounts of structured and unstructured data that will be consumed in near real-time.

    About the Role

    • Design data access APIs and server-to-server batch ETL tools

    • Work as a hands-on data modeler and ad-hoc data analyst when needed

    • Develop automated reports for analysts from complex and disparate data sets

    • Collaborate with DevOps to ensure proper scaling and monitoring of various data stores

    • Create and manage data pipelines using methods such as stream processing

    • Ensure data quality and help in achieving data governance with regulators

    • Own and drive complex technical projects from the planning stage through execution

    • Communicate results and impact to business stakeholders

     About You

    • Experience with dimensional modeling and data warehouse solutions (e.g. Redshift)

    • Experience with modern BI applications (e.g. Looker, Tableau)

    • Experience with NoSQL stores (e.g. Hadoop, Redis)

    • Experience with query, database, job, and/or cube performance tuning

    • Experience with an object-oriented programming language (e.g. Python, Java, GoLang)

    • Experience with streaming technologies (e.g. Kinesis, Kafka)

    • Experience with database migration, replication, and backup retention

    • Experience with logfile aggregation and analysis for trends and errors (e.g. ELK)

    • Understanding of cloud tools for data transfer and monitoring

    • Understanding of DevOps philosophy and containerization (e.g. Docker)

    • Familiarity with Protocol Buffers

    • Extensive use of Open Source software

    • Fluent at CICD with git pull requests, reviews, branches, and merges

    • Willingness to learn new technologies and challenge what’s possible

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom
